Web Design - Avenell HR Solutions

Avenell HR are an Edinburgh-based company specialising in personnel management. Their existing website was almost entirely based on graphics and was invisible to search engines, so my first consideration was to make it fully searchable by their spiders. I adopted a CSS-P layout in order to maintain maximum flexibility while keeping the HTML as simple as possible to ease the way for the spiders.

By keeping all the formatting information in the CSS files and making these switchable I was also able to offer the options of a user-selectable large-text version and a high-contrast version. The design phase also utilised switchable versions which included positioning elements in different places and giving the client the ability to instantly compare various layouts. The result was a clean design which the client was happy with and agreed to in a short period of time. Search engine optimisation of the site ensured that Avenell HR Solutions quickly achieved high search results placement for their most important search phrases.
